Adoption in India: Girl child favoured more than boy

When it comes to adoptions, Indians are more keen on the girl child. Of the 3,276 children adopted in the country in 2017-18, a total of 1,858 were girls, the data showed. Maharashtra leads with 353 girls being adopted out of a total of 642 adoptions. It was followed by Karnataka with 167 girls adoptions out of total 286. Here's more:
