More statues targeted after Lenin's: In TN, Periyar's statue stoned; in Kolkata SP Mukherjee's statue vandalised

After BJP leaders condoned the razing of a Lenin statue in Tripura, a party leader from Tamil Nadu tweeted yesterday saying anti-caste icon Periyar's statues should meet the same fate - and one of them almost did. PM Narendra Modi said he strongly disapproves of such acts of vandalism.
